Sports Court Line Painting in Devon
More Recent Work
It was our recent pleasure to create a bespoke basketball court for a primary school in Plymouth.
Fantastic job, LMS came in earlier than expected due to a free slot. The basketball pitch was not a full size but they worked it out and lined it. The children love it!
Andrew McQuillan, Site Manager
A standard size basketball court has a preset size with precise measurements and should have symmetry. However, for this particular job the playground was smaller than the standard size court and meant that before the crew could mark out they had to calculate and resize everything.
The choice of white or yellow thermoplastic for the lines was discussed with the customer at the quoting stage, they were unsure which to choose and decided they would make the decision on the day the work was due to be carried out.
In the end the customer decided the crew would use yellow thermoplastic for the lines.
The crew also spread non slip beading on the top of the line whilst thermoplastic surface was still warm. This was used to make it safer for the children when they are running around the court.
Whilst most the country is in lock down and many places remain closed, LMS Highways crews have been making use of the empty roads and car parks.
For many businesses having a car park lined or line markings refreshed can be a challenging task due to the inability to completely close off these areas to customers and staff. Usually this means our crews have to work around cars, cordoning off areas at a time. This can become quite timely and sometimes affect their ability to complete the job that day.
It’s easy for us to take living in Devon for granted... but jobs like this make us fall in love with our county all over again! Surrounded by rolling hills and the beautiful North Devon coastline our crew spent a few days implementing various line markings for a valued customer.
Safety markings are essential within potentially dangerous environments such as a busy warehouse with moving equipment like forklift trucks.
Due to this, a Bridgewater based company required various markings across their site. Our Newton Abbot crews installed new and refreshed safety markings throughout their warehouse and service yard.
We've recently had the pleasure of remarking several large Tesco store car parks across the South West and Wales including sites in Burnham on Sea, Brislington and Gloucester working on behalf of a major contractor.
